From Dante's Inferno. Watercolor and ink on journal paper.

Daily Deviation

Beatrix by *jrowel20 inscribes itself in a high literary tradition: illustrating the Divina Commedia, and does so with a particular style that combines strong classical peculiarities with contemporary, popular illustration elements. The small vignette that takes place inside Beatrice's hair/mind is delicious. I recommend this gallery, revolving around mythology and literature with a unique hand. This is a deviant who must not go overlooked anymore. (Suggested by ~SpudPaste and Featured by `stigmatattoo)

This is beautiful... I'm sorry I am a little bad with words currently, but hopefully I'll be back later to say something far more worthy of this tremendous piece of art, if, of course, it isn't too crowded, so to speak.

I never had a chance to finish The Divine Comedy, I got stuck in one of the nine circle, can't remember which exactly...
